Networking can be a tricky business in the best of situations – with layers and layers of complexity to consider before even connecting a device – especially once you get VLANs involved. But no matter how much management is being done, sometimes you run across a situation where you just need more than one network connected to the same recorder. Often, you have two entirely separate networks you need to use, one for video upload and software updates, and one for AV control and other intra-network communications.
We understand the need to keep these two worlds separate, both for security and network congestion purposes. In these situations, Cattura Video and Capturecast now have you covered. While we have long offered dual networking setups as an option for our Pro series, recently we’ve noticed an increased customer need for having dual networks that can be used simultaneously, so we’re proud to announce that both our Slim and Pro models now come with dual network capability out of the box with all configurations.
One of these connectors is the standard 1 Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port that has always been present on Capturecast recorders, while the second port is a 2.5 Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port that can bring even more bandwidth to your unit on networks that support it, allowing for even quicker uploads to your video publishing platform of choice.
